The Meals on Wheels Program provides nutritious food for seniors who are unable to prepare a well-balanced meal.
MORE THAN JUST A MEAL...
Our dedicated volunteers and caring staff provide warm wishes and friendly smiles each day. Meals on Wheels We offer two programs . The first is the Meals on Wheels Program and the second is the Nutritous Meals At Home Program.
The Meals on Wheels Program
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Individuals are eligible to receive MEALS ON WHEELS if they meet all of the following criteria: .60 years of age or older, or the spouse of someone 60 years of age; .unable to leave their home under normal circumstances; .unable to prepare meals or obtain food; .unable to dine at a Senior Luncheon Center; . no person is available who would be able & willing to prepare all meals.
DONATIONS
The actual cost of each meal served averages $6.59 per meal. The suggested contribution, for eligible seniors, is $2.50 per meal. No one is denied service because of an inability to contribute. All donations are used to purchase additional meals, and minimize the necessity for waiting lists. METHODS OF SERVICE
In much of the area we serve, hot noon meals are delivered five days a week. These meals are designed to be the main meal of the day. A Sack evening meal (usually a sandwich, salad, fruit & milk) may be provided for those who need it most. Frozen meals are available for weekends and holidays. In some rural areas our customers are served by weekly deliveries of frozen meals.
Because funding for Meals on Wheels is not always sufficient to meet the needs of every eligible senior meals may not be available for everyone who qualifies!
The Nutritous Meals At Home Program Need for home delivered meals. Private Pay Program Costs Hot Meals $5.50 + tax/ meal Frozen Meals $5.50 + tax/ meal Supper Meals $5.50 + tax/ meal You will be billed monthly. Your statement will show what you received and what you owe for services. If you do not pay the bill by the due date, service will be terminated.
SHORT TERM NEEDS
Many people receive MEALS ON WHEELS for a week or two following hospitalization.
SPECIAL DIETS
Strict therapeutic diets are not available at the present time. A few changes are made for diabetics and those requiring mechanically adjusted, or renal meals. Skim milk is served upon request.
MENU PATTERN
Menus are designed to contain a wide variety of well-balanced nutritious meals. Each meal consists of a protein-rich entree, fruit, vegetables, bread, milk and dessert.

Service may be initiated by calling the MEALS ON WHEELS office. Referrals are accepted from any source.
